The Kansas Grape Growers and Winemakers Association received a USDA value added grant to assist with the development of a wine quality program. The program is open to any winery in Kansas and is only affiliated with the KGGWA for program funds administration. This program is officially called KQC (Kansas Quality Certified).
The purpose of the program is to provide consumer confidence in the wines that they select from Kansas, forming a traction of credibility that can be a pinnacle toward building the Kansas wine and grape industries. The program will provide each winery vital feedback on their wines, which can be then utilized by the winemaker to improve future vintages.
In order to be a KQC wine, the following criteria must be met.
KQC wineries will be noted on the map contained on this website. KQC is the symbol for quality Kansas wines. Customers can look for the symbol at the participating wineries, winery websites as well at the local wine retail store. Grab a bottle today and enjoy the fruits of Kansas.
